Celebrating its 10th year, the Chelmsford City Showcase for Business returns on Wednesday 14th November 2018, from 9am – 3:30pm. It will be taking place at Hylands Estate, Hylands Park, London Road, Chelmsford, CM2 8WQ.

Invest ESSEX are supporting the Chelmsford Showcase for Business as an important event which aims to provide free support and advice, as well as networking-opportunities for local businesses and business people.

Attracting local businesses and those from surrounding areas, the event is open to companies of all sizes. Throughout the day attendees will be able to visit over 50 trade stands and take part in seminars, with the opportunity to raise their questions to experts.

9:00am – Chelmsford Business Board Annual Briefing
This will provide an update on current developments and initiatives, plus an overview of future ambitions.

10:00am – Showcase Official Opening
The official opening of the showcase by Cllr Yvonne Spence, Mayor of Chelmsford.

10:30am Seminar 1
Graham Broughton from The Consortium talks about brand identity and building your business as a brand.

11:30 am – Seminar 2
Dan Hull from Dan Hull Prepared Foods provides a real-life example of developing a growing business and operating in the Chelmsford district.

2.30pm – Happy Hour
Join the Economic Development team for tea and cake to celebrate Chelmsford’s success and the 10th Showcase.

The exhibition and networking area will be open throughout the event from 10am until 3:30pm.

There will also be dedicated areas for finding out about:

  • Current funding opportunities covering innovation
  • Consultancy and the purchase of capital items
  • Information on apprenticeships (especially for employers who do not pay into the levy)

This 10th Showcase continues to celebrate the success of Chelmsford as a business location, working with Chelmsford Star Co-op who will bring along exhibitors from their ‘Made in Essex’ campaign and Invest ESSEX who have supported a number of businesses in the district….

  • Davina Steel – an award-winning gluten-free artisan bakery, creating bread, focaccia, scones and pizza.
  • Hoppily – a craft beer subscription club focused on showcasing a selection of the best local beers from Essex and London breweries.
  • Phoenix Smokery – a smokery producing artisan smoked fish, meat, cheese and pantry items.
  • Meilleur Coffee – a coconut & hazelnut coffee flavoured drink, providing an alternative to coffee.
  • Milk Bikes – a design and distribution company producing bicycles, scooters, skates, drift trikes and helmets.
  • Vanity Flair – a bathroom basin and unit restoration company, re-purposing antique furniture.
  • Vision Co-Working – providing creative co-working office spaces for all business sizes, from start-ups to large corporations.
