PLMR, a leading national communications agency and global top 250 PR company, has opened their brand-new East of England office in Chelmsford, Essex, as part of the company’s plans for continued growth into 2019.

With headquarters for their East of England operations in Chelmsford along with additional offices in London, Cambridge and Norwich, PLMR’s expansion will enable the company to bring its integrated communications offering closer to businesses, charities and other organisations across the region. PLMR’s dramatic increase in its East of England presence represents a strong vote of confidence in the economic strength of the region and its potential for further growth.

I am thrilled to be leading PLMR’s expansion in the East of England. The region is home to a vast range of exciting sectors and businesses, from tech clusters and advanced manufacturing to nationally vital infrastructure schemes and world-leading financial and professional services. As such, this represents a hugely exiting opportunity for us as a business and we are keen to work with organisations across the region to help them succeed.

Chelmsford as a business hub

PLMR are one example of a number of companies that have recently decided to base themselves in the burgeoning business hub of Chelmsford, England’s newest city. They join companies such as Teledyne e2v, AON, MS Amlin, BAE Systems, Tevva Motors, QBE, and Visteon already based in the city and follow on from notable recent arrivals such as Willmott Dixon, who are one of the country’s leading construction firms, as well as law firm Ellisons Solicitors.

Part of the reason for the attractiveness of Chelmsford as a business location is demonstrated by the fact that it contributes around £3.5bn to the national economy overall, housing more than 17,000 businesses and 85,000 jobs. It is also Essex’s biggest business base and continues to grow as a city.

With an extensive track-record of working with companies across the infrastructure, transport, technology, education and health sectors, PLMR’s team are keen to bring their expertise to bear across Essex and the East of England region, which will be spearheaded from their Chelmsford headquarters. Chelmsford’s fantastic transport links to London and Cambridge means that PLMR will be perfectly positioned to meet the requirements of these sectors.

Business growth in the East of England

The launch of the new PLMR Chelmsford office builds on the work of Snapdragon Consulting, a planning communications company, which was acquired by PLMR in 2017. The decision to launch an expanded office will build on the previous success of Snapdragon Consulting and provide a greater diversity of communications services to organisations across the East of England, further boosting the Essex economy.

Since opening Snapdragon’s original East of England office in Cambridge in 2015 we have gone from strength-to-strength, providing market-leading planning communications support. We’re delighted to be able to expand and increase our offering to businesses in the region and are hugely excited to begin the next stage of our growth across the East of England.
