Businesses of all sizes and across a range of sectors were on show last week at Five Lakes Resort for the Business Excellence Awards Essex 2019. Invest ESSEX were proud to be headline sponsors of the event, held on 26th September 2019, which celebrated and highlighted Essex’s thriving business community. Invest ESSEX wishes to congratulate both the winners and nominated businesses in each category. See further down the page for a list of the winners from each category.
The Business Excellence Awards Essex aims to celebrate the best in business in the county, highlighting the achievements attained by the talented companies and their employees over the past 12 months. Invest ESSEX is especially delighted to have assisted so many of both the nominated and winning businesses during their respective rises to success, with victorious clients including Agility Healthtech, Carmel Jane Photography, Coco Lighting, Davina Steel – Gluten Free, Secret Hamper, and Tuffon Hall.
Essex – A place to invest and grow
Invest ESSEX Location Services Director, David Rooke, helped to open the awards with a speech which championed Essex’s continued contribution to the national economy and its untapped potential, with the county offering businesses of all sizes the ideal environment to grow and succeed.
The speech also drew attention to Invest ESSEX’s role in both attracting inward investment into the county and in supporting SMEs. There are now more than 120,000 registered businesses across Greater Essex – 99% of which are SMEs – and Invest ESSEX believes the strength of that community will only grow in the future. Invest ESSEX also provide direct and specialist support and advice to help SMEs across Essex thrive and prosper, with a particular focus on the funding and financing of business.
Nearly 1,400 of those 120,000 previously mentioned registered businesses are foreign owned companies, with perhaps unsurprisingly, over 200 of those companies being US owned. As well as the 200 US owned companies, 99 are German, 34 French, 31 Australian, 11 are Indian and 3 are Chinese.
